This policy explains what personal information the Mehrizm assessment portal at profthakur.com collects, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legalese.
1. Who we are
The portal is operated by Mehrizm ("we", "us"), which publishes psychological assessments carrying forward the lifetime work of Prof. (Dr.) Giridhar P. Thakur. For any question about this policy or your data, write to info@mehrizm.com or call +91 84870 00004. We act as the data controller for the information described below.
2. What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and mobile number. If you register with a password, we store only a one-way bcrypt hash of it; we never store or see the password itself.
- Assessment data — the answers you give in any assessment you take, the time you spent, your progress, and the scored report generated from those answers.
- Order and payment records — which assessments you purchased, the amount, any promotional code used, and a payment reference returned by our payment gateway. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on the gateway's own page and are never received or stored by us.
- Technical and security records — an audit log of significant account events (registration, sign-in, password reset, payment, submission, report release) together with the time they occurred, used to protect your account and to investigate problems.
- Messages you send us — anything you type into the contact form, so we can reply.
We do not run advertising, we do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not build marketing profiles.
3. Signing in with Google
If you choose "Continue with Google", we ask Google only for the openid, email and profile scopes. From that we receive your name, email address and Google account identifier, and we use them for one purpose: to create or recognise your account so you can sign in. We do not receive your Google password, and we request no access to Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar or any other Google service. You can revoke this access at any time from your Google Account's security settings, and doing so does not delete your portal account.
4. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and let you sign in, including one-time codes sent by email or SMS.
- To deliver the assessments assigned to you, save your progress, and generate your report.
- To let your facilitator or administrator assign assessments to you and release your report to you.
- To process purchases and keep a record of them.
- To reply to enquiries you send us.
- To keep the service working, prevent abuse, and meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
5. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers, each of which receives only what is necessary to do its job:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting for the application and database, in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region of India.
- Zoho ZeptoMail — delivery of transactional email such as one-time codes and password resets.
- onlysms.co.in — delivery of transactional SMS one-time codes to Indian mobile numbers.
- Google — sign-in with Google (if you use it) and the map shown on our contact page.
- Razorpay — payment processing, where paid assessments are enabled.
Beyond these, we disclose personal information only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
6. Where your data lives, and for how long
Your data is stored on servers we operate in India (AWS Mumbai). We keep your account and assessment records for as long as your account is open, because your reports remain available to you. If you ask us to close your account we will delete or irreversibly anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep certain records — payment and tax records, for example — for a period fixed by law.
7. How we protect it
All traffic to and from the portal is encrypted in transit with HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes. Sessions use signed, time-limited tokens. Access to the underlying database is restricted to the application and to a small number of administrators. One-time codes expire quickly and are rate-limited. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we take these safeguards seriously and review them as the portal grows.
8. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, delete your account and data, or provide a copy in a portable format. You may also object to a particular use or withdraw a consent you previously gave. Write to info@mehrizm.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Assessment results are not a diagnosis
The assessments on this portal are intended for self-awareness, reflection and guided counselling. They are not a medical or psychiatric diagnosis and are not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Reports are visible to you and to the facilitator or administrator responsible for your assessment, and are not published or shared more widely.
10. Children
The portal is intended for people aged 18 and over. A younger person may take an assessment only through, and with the consent of, a parent, guardian or an institution acting in that capacity. If we learn that we hold data about a child collected without that consent, we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for a significant change we will tell you by email or through a notice in the portal before it takes effect.
